Philip has spent his career in electrical engineering, in design, construction and commissioning of electrical infrastructure. During the last 15 years he has focused on power system plant and protection.

Companies he has worked for include Electricity North West in Manchester, managing the major projects team, EA Technology in Chester as protection engineer and Northern Powergrid where roles included protection engineering and Distribution Control Engineer.

He started his career as an electrical technician apprentice at UKAEA in Warrington and has a BEng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne.

Philip joined VPS in 2016. Expertise includes protection studies, calculations, design, site surveys and commissioning support.
